About Popup Socks
Our Mission
Our mission at Popup Socks is to lend care in the most basic way to our most vulnerable community members by providing dignity, comfort, and warmth through inclement weather. With freezing cold winters and a burgeoning homeless population in my region, Popup Socks ensures that every individual receives the basic support of clean, warm socks. Through Popup Socks’ grassroots fundraising and collection efforts, we aim to bridge the gap between surplus and need.
By mobilizing high school students, local businesses, and community partners, we transform a simple necessity into a powerful act of compassion.
Our goals are to:
- 1. Collect and distribute thousands of new, high-quality socks to local shelters and outreach programs.
- 2. Raise awareness of the overlooked needs of those experiencing homelessness.
- 3. Empower students to become active agents of community change and community support.
- 4. Create a consistent and stable student-led model of direct community service.
Through Popup Socks, we are not just providing a piece of clothing–-we are creating a gesture of human connection.
